Ingredients

  • 1 kg of stale bread (any kind of bread may be used, you may also mix different types using what you have at home)
  • 6 table spoons of brown sugar
  • 6 table spoons of white sugar
  • 1 dl of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 200 gr of raisins
  • 20 gr of butter for the cake tin

    Preparation of this dessert

  • Cut the bread into small pieces and pour some hot coffee, milk or water onto it. Let it soak for 2 hours. Then, dry it well by using a sieve. You will obtain a dough
  • Add to this dough the 2 kinds of sugar, the beated eggs, the milk and the raisins. Mix and knead well your dough. If it is too dry, pour a bit of milk. Spice with the cinnamon powder
  • Butter the cake tin and place your dough into it. Preheat the oven at 100 / 120 °C
  • Bake in the oven for 60 to 80 minutes, depending of your oven features.
